PureScrub 2′ Germicidal UV System
AgroMax PureScrub air sanitizer system provides a complete solution for localized indoor air purification. The system includes the PureScrub 2' UVC unit, 6" HEPA intake filter, 6" high-velocity fan, and neoprene clamps. This design quickly neutralizes pathogens by exposing them to a concentrated dose of UVC light as air is passed through the chamber of the PureScrub fixture. The HEPA filter cleans incoming air and the 6" inline fan provides the necessary airflow. All system components operate on 120v power and each unit includes (4) AgroMax Germicidal UVC bulbs.

AgroMax’s new PureScrub germicidal UVC air sanitizer system is the first line of defense against pathogens in your air. This standalone system comes with the 2′ PureScrub fixture, 6″ high-velocity inline fan, and a HEPA filter to provide a complete localized air sanitization solution. Utilizing concentrated doses of Ultraviolet-C (UVC) light, the PureScrub is able to rapidly disinfect air flowing through it’s internal light chamber. All system components operate on 120v power and each unit includes (4) AgroMax Germicidal UVC bulbs.

What is UVC Light?
UVC, or Ultraviolet C, is a non-visible wavelength of short-wave light radiation, falling between 100-280nm on the light spectrum. It is used primarily for germicidal applications, where UVC light exposure effectively neutralizes viruses and other pathogens. While UVC emitted from the Sun is almost entirely blocked by Earth’s atmosphere, specialized lighting technology is able to reproduce the 100-280nm spectrum.

Biological Effect of UV Light
While UVB radiation is widely recognized for its harmful effects on human skin and links to skin cancer, each of the UV bands (UVA, UVB and UVC) create different risks for humans.UVC radiation refers to wavelengths shorter than 280 nm. These wavelengths are entirely absorbed by our atmosphere and no natural UVC radiation reaches the surface of the earth. These wavelengths are available to us through artificial sources.
In instances of prolonged direct exposure to UVC light, temporary eye and skin damage has been exhibited, such as cornea injury (sometimes referred to as “welder’s eye”) although this generally heals after a couple of days. Therefore, safety recommendations with UVC LEDs include protecting skin (in particular open wounds) and, most importantly, the eyes from UVC radiation.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
UV radiation is easily absorbed by clothing, plastic or glass. Once absorbed, UV radiation is no longer active. When working with open UV radiation during maintenance, service or other situations, personal protective equipment covering all exposed areas is recommended. When working around UVC devices, one should:
Use UV goggles and/or full-face shields.
Prescription glasses and normal safety glasses do not protect eyes from UV exposure, so ANSI Z87 rated eyeglasses with wrap around lens to protect the side exposure is recommended. Consult with ANSI Z87 manufacturers for proper UV exposure protection equipment.
Cover any exposed skin using lab coats, nitrile gloves or other lab attire.
