The exceptional physical properties of this perlite make it the top in the perlite world for adding porosity to soil and soilless mixes.

Mother Earth Perlite is 100% naturally occurring siliceous rock that when heated to 1600° F expands up to 20 times its original volume. This kilning process is very similar to popping popcorn and produces a growing media that is sterile and has a neutral pH of 7.0. This perlite has numerous hydroponic applications as well.

The #4 is the largest perlite on the market and averages a whopping size of around 1 inch.

EASY TO USE GARDENING INSTRUCTIONS:

It is recommended to wear gardening gloves and wash hands when using this or other planting material.

GROWING PLANTS FROM CUTTINGS:

1. Fill container with Mother Earth Perlite
2. Water thoroughly
3. Make planting holes with a pencil
4. Insert cuttings into planting holes, placing perlite around them
5. Keep moist and out of direct sunlight

If used for seedlings, feeding should start as soon as the seeds germinate. If used for cuttings, feeding should start once roots appear.

LIGHTING:

Plants vary in their lighting requirements. Refer to plant tags for specific light or shade needs

WATERING:

Let mix dry to the touch between waterings. Do not allow plants to sit in drainage water. Outdoor container plants require frequent water- as often as once per day in heat, especially under dry conditions.

REPOTTING:

To avoid compaction and to replenish nutrients all container plants should be repotted annually.
